Get gripui
Your browser.
Now in the loop.
Install the CLI, activate your licence, and give your agent the skill. You’ll need Chrome or Firefox already installed on your machine.
01 / Install
The installer checks the download’s checksum and installs gripui, with grip and gu as short aliases.
curl -fsSL https://gripui.com/install.sh | bashirm https://gripui.com/install.ps1 | iexmacOS arm64 / x64 · Linux x64 · Windows x64. Firefox also needs geckodriver on your PATH.
02 / Activate your licence
Browser actions require a paid licence. Choose Solo Dev or Pro Runner, then use the key from your licence email:
gripui license activate <your-key>Replace <your-key> with your key. Run gripui license status to check activation. See licence help for renewals and moving machines.
03 / Teach your agent
From your project directory, run:
gripui teachThis installs the skill for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot and Grok. Start a new agent session so it can discover the skill, then ask it to use gripui.
04 / Start a session
Ask your agent to attach a named profile for the job, open a public page, and read it with gripui hud. You can also try the commands yourself:
gripui attach workgripui go https://example.comgripui hudRun one command at a time and read the result. For sites that require sign-in, use a human handoff. Start with only the accounts the task needs.
Follow the first-session tutorial ↗Prefer MCP?
gripui mcp exposes one tool over stdio. It uses the same commands, licence, profiles and browser session as the CLI.
claude mcp add gripui -- gripui mcpFor Codex, add this to ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.gripui]
command = "gripui"
args = ["mcp"]For another MCP client, use gripui as the command and mcp as its argument. Ask the agent to attach a named profile before browsing, or pass an explicit profile in its calls.
Updating
Run the installer again. The next browser command upgrades the daemon while retaining its browser session; an active command finishes before replacement.
